Internship collaboration with the CEU Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

“More than 200 future veterinary professionals have visited the pilot plant that Taberner has placed at the service of the CEU Cardenal Herrera University.”

From September 2019 to January 2020, the R&D&I department of MANUFACTURAS TABERNER, S.A. has been providing internships in meat processing for 5th-year Veterinary students from CEU CARDENAL HERRERA in Valencia.

The internships were conducted in groups of approximately 15 students, including individuals from various EU countries in addition to Spanish students.

Through these initiatives, we help young people get to know our company firsthand. The internships consisted of a theoretical part and a practical part to provide them with an internal view of what we produce, offering a close and personal perspective of Taberner. The differences between meat preparations and meat products are explained, as well as the preparations provided by MANUFACTURAS TABERNER, S.A. for their development within the meat industry.

Furthermore, the information expressed in the Technical Data Sheets prepared by the quality department for each of our preparations was expanded upon, and the functionality of each ingredient in the list was explained, along with the limitations, where applicable, of additives whose dosage is regulated by EU legislation.

In the practical section, once the theory was taught, various meat products were prepared, explaining the different processes of production, fermentation, curing… while also encouraging active participation from the students, who were able to ask any questions.

At Taberner, we believe in talent. Upon completing their degree, the students who have visited our pilot plant will enter the professional world with knowledge of meat industry processes, guided by the experience of professionals from the R&D&I and Quality departments at Taberner, which provides them with significant value regarding what they will face in their professional future.
